POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively successful accounting and finance management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
  • CPA required
  • Audit experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Accounting Manager oversees the accounting activities at the WAC, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, budgets, payroll, and reports. They implement management systems and maintain the integrity of the accounting system. The Senior Accounting Manager supports other departments and contributes to the WAC’s mission by ensuring responsive accounting team members and safeguarding accounting systems.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage financial reporting, including monthly financial statements, cash flow statements, balance sheets, income statements, and statistical schedules, collaborating with external auditors.
  • Monitor financial results in line with the WAC’s mission, vision, values, and goals; refine key strategies with the Chief Financial Officer, CEO, and other team members.
  • Collaborate with departments on budget and financial planning matters, providing expertise on business concepts, systems, and projections. Conduct monthly budget meetings and distribute meeting minutes to management.
  • Direct and supervise Accounting/Finance Team Members responsible for member services, general ledger accounting, payroll, sales audits, accounts payable, and cashier/receptionist services. Oversee cash management, ensuring timely member payments.
  • Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, contributing to Finance & Budget, Audit, and other Committees as needed. Assist in business planning, contractual reviews, retirement plans, investments, insurance, government reporting, and tax administration.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development in management, specialized skills, hospitality industry practices, and adherence to WAC rules and standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by Chief Financial Officer.
