About You and the role As an Senior Accounting Specialist based in Navi Mumbai you will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and completeness of the company’s financial records in compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements. This position demands strong technical accounting expertise and ability to apply accounting principles across financial work processes while ensuring adherence to established functional business rules, accounting policies and internal controls. You will lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, perform reconciliations, conduct flux analysis to explain significant variances, and proactively partner across functional partners. In addition, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver timely and precise reporting. The role also offers opportunities to contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives driving efficiency and innovation. Your work directly impacts the quality of financial reporting and compliance, requiring attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strict adherence to company guidelines. Key Responsibilities Ensure timely and accurate execution of accounting activities in line with company standards, which could include: Identify and appropriately communicate potential risks and identify improvement opportunities Records, monitors, reports, and communicates function/business results, and ensures activity is accurate, complete, and compliant to accounting standards Knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP and accounting policies Monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities Quarterly reconciliations including Blackline Monthly flux analysis (comparing current and prior period trial balances and explaining significant fluctuations) Preparation of quarterly and year-end schedules Execute and monitor 3rd party contracts Leads cost flow and product costing reviews Manages cost-object master data, assists internal partners in managing their cost / expense performance, Variance Analysis and ensures expenses are recorded in the appropriate period Leading annual budget process, Reviewing with the stakeholders and reporting to Leadership team Facilitate SOX compliance activities Monitor and maintain work processes to ensure internal controls in data integrity Provides financial analysis to function/business management teams as needed for project studies, options analysis, and productivity/benchmarking measurements, and establishes and maintains an ongoing working relationship with other sub-processes and functions Maintain effective internal controls and support external and internal audits. Assist the tax team with preparation of tax reports and audits. Drive continuous process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in commerce, CMA CA or US CPA preferred. Minimum 8+ years of experience in financial accounting with US GAAP. Proficient in financial accounting Fluent in English (both written and spoken) Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Power BI, Power Query, and Excel Your Skills Strong analytical mindset Excellent communication skills Detail-oriented approach to processes Highly collaborative and able to work effectively across levels and functions Additional Notes Relocation assistance is not available with this position.
