PPL Biomechanics is an SME which has been manufacturing Custom Orthotic Devices since 1993. We are the leading supplier of foot orthoses, specialised footwear, and other biomechanical devices in Ireland, selling to Medical Practitioners in Private Clinics, Private Hospitals, HSE Hospitals and Community Care Centres.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

· Education: Part qualified accountant / bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field / senior accounting technician.

  • Experience: 2 + years of relevant experience in accounts.
  • IT Skills: Excellent IT skills are essential, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Intact ERP is an advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient management of the company’s credit and collections processes, contributing to our financial health and customer relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Credit Control: Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments, actively managing overdue balances to minimise bad debt exposure.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Issue invoices, credit notes, and statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Preparing a monthly file for the DD customers payments
  • Customer Communication: Liaise with customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to resolve payment queries and disputes.
  • Reconciliation: Perform account reconciliations and assist in resolving discrepancies, ensuring accurate ledger maintenance.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain weekly reports on aged debtors.
  • Credit Risk Assessment: Support the Finance Manager in assessing creditworthiness for new and existing customers.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimisation within credit control and contribute to their implementation.
  • Accounts Payable: Invoice processing and filing, suppliers’ statement’s reconciliation, making lists for monthly supplier’s payments
  • Bank reconciliations: Updating the company system with customer receipts, supplier payments, and other bank transactions.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with other members of the Finance team to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to deadlines.
