As a Senior Account Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business while managing existing accounts through face-to-face contact within an assigned region (Eastern Canada). You will be expected to deeply understand your customers’ business, be able to craft unique solutions, and build broad preference for Powell to secure orders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Technical Sales or Marketing role or combination 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering & sales/marketing role
  • Strong connections and understanding of local market, key end-users, consulting firms and across the customer base in general.
  • Good knowledge of commercial issues relating to contracts and agreements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Maintaining body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs .
  • Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner.
  • Standing, walking, and speaking for long periods of time
  • Typing, punching or applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm

Responsibilities
  • Aggressively source and proactively pursue opportunities to sell LV/MV custom solutions, retrofit, retrofill, automation and services in Eastern Canada.
  • Successfully drive the sales, strategy, support proposal development, negotiation efforts to win new projects.
  • Demonstrate a high level of energy & drive towards achieving the rapid level of growth required in the region.
  • Ensure the achievement of sales volume and profitability targets in line with company objectives.
  • Working with Powell Global Services (PGS) Director to develop / refine / update / execute to contribute toward regional growth strategy to increase Powell’s total market share within the region.
  • Develop and promote Powell’s brand within the region through frequent customer visits, presentations, lunch & learns, and other marketing activities.
  • Promote and deliver comprehensive EPC type projects.
  • Deliver superior customer value through an intimate understanding of their needs and excellent responsiveness.
  • Help handle and resolve customer issues.
  • Develop and cultivate customer relationships across the region.
  • Travel and meet with new & existing customers on a regular basis within the region.
  • Provide leadership to all divisions of Powell to encourage their participation and success in the growth plans within the region.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on account progress, opportunities tracking (i.e. pipeline), sales volumes, hit rate, etc.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of sales efforts through regular sales meetings.
  • Maintain and continuously develop technical competencies.
  • Other duties as required.
