You will be working on projects across the Buildings, Environment and Transportation sectors, mainly in the UK. Our project track record includes a number of landmarks around the city including the transformative redevelopment of Earls Court, St Pauls Cathedral Wren Centre and Bell Tower refurbishment and the expansion and refurbishment of St Pancras International station. This gives the ideal opportunity for exposure to lots of different types of work with ability to specialise in a particular sector as part of future career progression You will join our Acoustics department As our new Acoustic Consultant, you will be part of our award-winning dynamic UK team of 13 people. The team is part of a thriving specialist international group of over 100 acousticians in over 12 countries. In the UK, the team operates across 4 offices (Cambridge, London, Birmingham and Manchester) and wins a third of its work from external clients and the balance in collaboration with our own environmental, transport and building engineers. We deliver a wide variety of environmental and buildings projects ranging from a growing portfolio of data-centres across the UK, Europe and the US to new schools and hospitals and sustainable places for people to live and work in UK. We are supporting projects from the Antarctic to Aarhus but with a real focus on continued success in the growing our London market. Our team is highly experienced, engaged and motivated and committed to delivering excellence to our clients in all areas of noise and vibration design. Our pipeline is diverse, robust and most importantly, resilient. Ramboll is a full member of the Association of Noise Consultants. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be: Undertaking baseline environmental noise and vibration surveys, and benchmark testing of existing buildings. Rigorous application of standards such as BS 4142, BS 8233, BS 5228 and Pro PG to projects. Authoring technical reports both for planning and design. Acoustic modelling (CADNA/A and Odeon). Effectively managing own workload and project managing projects. Residential/Masterplan, Roads, Bridges and Industrial led EIA preparation. Site inspections on Building projects and PCT testing. Liaison with Ramboll Environment and Health and Buildings teams. Input to fee proposals, resource tracking and monitoring of project profitability. Effective communication with architects and other specialists to integrate acoustic requirements into the project designs. Technical support for colleagues and contributing to our continued growth and success. For this role, we believe your starting point is: Acoustic related Degree, IOA Diploma or Masters’ Degree Full driving license Relevant experience in acoustic consultancy Proven experience in project delivery and managing own workload Desire to or already working towards CEng Associate Member of Institute of Acoustics (working towards MIOA) Proficient user of CADNA-A software Experience in the use of Odeon would be beneficial Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: you have excellent communication and organisational skills and you are commercially aware You are also able to develop and maintain successful internal and external client relationships, meet deadlines and secure the highest quality of work at all times.
