Job Title Senior Acoustic Engineer Job Description Job title: Philips Ultrasound Shanghai, a member of Philips Healthcare Ultrasound, is a leader in design, development, and manufacture of medical ultrasound transducers for variety of applications for more than 15 years. The company offers a rich family of high quality and high performing transducers to medical ultrasound customers. This position is in Philips Ultrasound Shanghai’s R&D Department, reporting to transducer R&D Director. As an R&D team member, this position will contribute to the company’s core competency for acoustic design of Philips Ultrasound Shanghai transducers with high quality and high efficiency, and meeting operation metrics on yield, defects, capacity, and delivery. Your role: Works as a key contributor in developing Philips Ultrasound transducers with team members in R&D and cross functional groups as domain expert in acoustic. Works on and solves well defined and assigned technical problems where analysis and resolving of situations or data requires evaluation of several factors. Works with senior engineering staff and management and make sound judgment/decision based on solid and logical data analysis. Pro-actively seeks out, learns, applies and shares with others new technical skills on an ongoing basis. Acquires skills and techniques in problem solving planning and can apply the skills to complete assigned tasks and team activities Responsible for the assigned tasks’ quality of work, reliability, schedule (if appropriate), cost and delegation of tasks on one or more modules. Utilizes theoretical techniques and can apply complex design patterns to well defined problems in delivering results in: Complete assigned well-defined tasks in developing new ultrasound transducer products by working with engineering team on time. Drive feasibility project team, conduct acoustic simulation (1D & 2D), Seek in new materials and technology to resolve problems met in developing transducer products. Conduct acoustic data analysis and work with process engineer to optimize performance, process during the product development and prototyping. Lead in troubleshooting in-process issues. Draft and release required product procedure and specification related documents. Lead in analyzing root cause, provide constructive ideas/advice for field returned products. Assist junior staffs training in acoustic knowledge You're the right fit if: Demonstrate history of solid occupational ethics Requires minimum master degree in Acoustic Engineering, physic, Biomedical Engineering. Projects experience in the field of Acoustic Engineering, or FEA (Finite Element Analyze) PZCAD, PZFLEX or equal is plus. Good skill in using tools and SW on simulation, prototyping, , and data analysis, like Matlab, Minitab, etc. Ability to work effectively in complex projects with team; Good ability to operate independently; Technical skill for issues resolving and troubleshooting logically. Requires good knowledge of ultrasound transducers and some knowledge in a variety of specialties; some clinical knowledge is a plus. Able to effectively work within a project team and utilizes resources to produce optimal results Good English verbal and written communication skills. Able to effectively communicate and/or present complex technical issues to engineers and managers. Capable of work from requirements documents and solves well-defined problems as outlined by management and senior engineers. Take ownership and accountability to deliver results fast.
