The incumbent is responsible to assist the Manager/Senior Manager to define and implement appropriate actuarial standards and work processes in relation to the provision of actuarial services to the Company. Actuarial knowledge and skills are necessary in various aspects of insurance business, e.g. product design and pricing, analysis of the company’s claims, persistency and expense experience, arrangement of reinsurance, calculation of reserves, capital and profit reporting under various regulatory bases. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Manager / Senior Manager in providing technical and strategic support for the implementation of various company-wide business projects. This includes product and process reviews, business retention and solutioning, medical repricing project, regulatory change requirements, system upgrade initiatives, and other business initiatives. Support the delivery of actuarial related projects in collaboration with other relevant Departments (Operations, IT and Marketing) to ensure projects align with the company’s vision and provide regular updates on project progression to the Manager / Senior Manager. Assist in conducting comprehensive analyses of the company’s claims, persistency and expense experiences. Support the preparation of detailed management reports to facilitate better understanding and informed decision making. Design and enhance a robust Prophet model office to enable detailed analysis of financial output. This will include all financial output where Prophet is used, such as Statutory Valuation, Embedded Value, New Business Profitability, Group Internal Economic Capital Assessment, IFRS17 and other financial projections to internal stakeholders, Group head office and regulators. Ensure accurate and timely production of financial output, guided by internal governance on Prophet enhancement. Assess risks inherent in the new processes, communicate implications effectively and identify mitigating solutions to manage risk. Provide general actuarial advice and expertise to address policyholder, agent, and regulatory queries. Ensure the information provided is accurate, sufficiently detailed, easily understood by the intended audience, and addresses the issues at hand. Work closely with colleagues across different departments to achieve common goals and ensure the successful execution of projects. Encourage open communication, share knowledge, and support each other in the projects. JOB SPECIFICATION Qualifications: Degree in Actuarial Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics or other physical sciences or numerate discipline Good progress in actuarial professional examinations. Experience: At least 3 years relevant working experience Knowledge A numerate and analytical mind. Proficiency with programming tools (e.g. Visual Basic) Practical knowledge in Prophet (preferred) or other projection software would be preferred Must be meticulous with the ability to work under pressure.
