We are currently looking for a Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer who loves working in a dynamic environment and is excited to grow with a team around additive and advanced manufacturing technologies. As a Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer with Solvus Global you will work with team members from many fields (mechanical, controls, software, etc.) to identify part-production opportunities, define the material and process challenges, develop the process & procedure, validate the process, and ultimately deploy the process into full production.
As an Additive Manufacturing Engineer, you will especially be responsible for all aspects of operating and supporting polymer-based additive manufacturing equipment, identifying key additional technologies to bring in-house, and designing and executing optimization studies for new materials, parts, and processes. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include communication with team members about project objectives and status, operating additive manufacturing equipment, and analyzing test coupons and components you’ve manufactured.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS

  • Must be a US Person according to FAR22 CFR 120.15-US Person
  • Strong experience in metal-based additive manufacturing processes
  • Strong materials background in metals
  • Experience leading teams in project execution
  • Ability to take and give direction well as well as excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated capability of interfacing with external customers/vendors and on custom projects
  • Problem solving skills and a desire to develop new skills on the job 
  • Experience with CAD; Fusion 360 and Solidworks preferred

ADVANTAGEOUS ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS

  • Degree in Mechanical, Materials or Welding Engineering
  • Experience in revenue generation and strong understanding of business value
  • Strong desire to understand both technology and business aspects of engineering
  • Experience with metallographic analysis, mechanical testing, non-destructive evaluation, and/or failure analysis
  • Equipment inspection experience (with preventative maintenance)
  • Experience working with/for the US DOD or other government entities
  • Industrial Robotics Experience, specifically ABB and Robot Studio
  • WAAM/Wire DED, FSAM, and/or Cold Spray additive manufacturing experience
  • Hypermill, Siemens NX, Python, Matlab, and/or Paraview software experience
  • AS9100D and/or ISO 9001 Quality experience
