Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an enthusiastic social media professional to join our social media team.
Reporting to the Content and Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for producing social media and campaign content, monitoring issues and risk online, and providing expert advice to global product group and functional stakeholders. You will be the front door into the Content and Social Media team in APAC.

You will play a fundamental role in executing our strategy, designing and producing high-quality and engaging content across a range of social media accounts, including:

  • Planning, sourcing, writing, editing and proof-reading social media content, including videos, infographics.
  • Facilitating content roll-out on riotinto.com across our social media channels.
  • Collaborating with graphic designers, product groups and functions to produce content.
  • Building networks within the business to source leads, particularly in close conjunction with colleagues in APAC.
  • Identifying opportunities based on research insights and trends.
  • Analysing content performance across channels focusing on consistent engagement.
  • Leveraging best practice social media expertise and digital insights to optimise the efficacy of content.
  • Ensuring all content is in line with our brand guidelines, tone of voice and style guide
  • Community management
  • Strategising, building, optimising and reporting on paid campaigns.

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in communication or other related field.
  • Experience working in social media, public relations, journalism and/or digital marketing.
  • A good understanding of social media platforms, their respective audiences (LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube etc) and how each platform can be used in different scenarios.
  • Exceptional writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Track record of producing and delivering content across a broad range of social media channels.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and to manage multiple streams of work simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A hands-on approach.
  • Demonstrated creativity to identify and implement trends and opportunities to improve content.
  • Paid campaign experience.
  • Experience using CANVA, products in the Adobe Creative Suite and Digital Asset Management platforms would be also be valuable, but not essential
