The opportunity We have a fantastic all-rounder Senior Communications and Engagement Advisor opportunity with the Wellington Transport Alliance (WTA). This position plays a critical role in shaping and delivering strategic communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives that support the planning, delivery, and operation of Wellington Transport Alliance projects. In addition to the above you will: Develop, update and implement Communications and Engagement Plans for WTA. Ensure that WTA use a range of communications and engagement channels and tools to reach our identified stakeholders and customers. Ensure that WTA engage effectively and early with communities that are impacted by our activity. Ensure that WTA have effective links to media channels, by identifying and generating great content and storytelling opportunities Ensure the WTA has a well-managed annual advertising budget for targeted campaigns. Ensure customer research opportunities are harnessed to help better understand the best ways to reach all our customers. Strengthen our relationships with existing stakeholders and build relationships with new ones. Ensure customers and stakeholders: - are provided with clear, accurate information from WTA via a range of channels (recognising that different channels resonate with different people) and in a timely manner - know how to connect with WTA - feel they can get involved in issues that affect them, and that they are being listened to. - are reassured they are getting the same or better level of service under the alliance model, that it is a more effective way of working and that there will be improvements over time once the Alliance is well established. Ensuring our internal stakeholders know: - what WTA is, how it works and what will be different to current operations - who to connect with and how to engage with NZTA and WTA employees to gain and share information. About you You’ll bring a high level of initiative, proven experience, and a proactive approach to a fast-paced environment, contributing to stakeholder engagement and the development of effective communications and engagement plans and can hit the ground running. Your expertise will be key in building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and media, ensuring clear, consistent, and impactful messaging that supports the Alliance’s goals.
