As Senior Adviser, Digital Monitoring, you’ll play a key role in providing clear, evidence‑based insight on Health New Zealand’s digital delivery, risks and resilience. Working closely with the Lead Adviser and senior leaders, you’ll help translate complex digital signals into confident monitoring judgements, supporting timely escalation, proportionate assurance and informed Ministerial decision‑making. You will Deliver digital monitoring and analysis by gathering, validating and synthesising information on major digital systems, platforms and programmes to provide clear insight on performance, resilience, maturity and risk. Produce decision‑ready monitoring advice through high‑quality briefings, dashboards and recommendations that clearly explain confidence, uncertainty, risks and implications for senior leaders and Ministers. Support deep dives and targeted assurance by contributing analytical rigour, shaping lines of inquiry, triangulating data and translating assurance findings into practical monitoring insight. Identify and escalate digital risks using a proportionate, risk‑based lens to support early escalation of issues with potential system, reputational or Ministerial impact. Work collaboratively across monitoring domains by integrating digital insight with financial, infrastructure and service performance monitoring, strengthening a coherent system‑wide view of Health NZ performance while upholding equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations. Ko ngā pūkenga ōu - What you’ll bring Strong capability in digital monitoring and risk‑based analysis, including ability to interpret signals across digital performance, resilience, delivery confidence and maturity. Sound understanding of operational digital risk (including security/privacy, vendor reliance, technical debt and delivery slippage) and ability to recognise when issues require escalation. Strong monitoring craft and judgement, including distinguishing signal from noise, applying a structured lens, and recommending proportionate next steps. Capability to contribute to detailed technical analysis when required for escalated monitoring/intensive assurance, while exercising judgement about when to rely on external technical assurance. Proven experience delivering high-quality advice, with sound judgment to present clear options, implications, and recommendations. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with judgement to identify patterns, weaknesses, and risks in monitoring approaches and recommend practical improvements. Ability to build strong relationships across diverse stakeholders with ease and professionalism, enabling effective engagement.
