This role will make a significant impact and meaningful change to environmental performance in the Goldfields region of Western Australia, providing strategic and operational advice and delivering on environmental approvals, compliance, initiatives and closure.   The Role: You will join a committed and passionate Environment team at Granny Smith Gold Mine, assisting meet its environmental obligations while driving ongoing improvement, innovation and creating positive impact to the environment. The role responsibilities include: Providing environmental advice for day to day operations, including to meet legal obligations and compliance requirements. Manage and prepare environmental approval under WA legislation, assisting to set the approvals pathway for expansion projects. Oversee environmental monitoring, including guiding and supporting Advisors and Assistants. Support conformance with and auditing of ISO14001, Cyanide Code, GISTM, Water and Nature related commitments. Be involved in and drive closure projects, including rehabilitation, trials and monitoring. Identify and lead innovative projects, using UAVs and other technology. Supervise, guide and mentor Advisors, Assistants, Graduates and Vacation Students.   Work Schedule: 8 days on, 6 days off. Fly in and out from Perth, or drive from the Goldfields area. What We’re Looking For: Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science (or similar) preferred. 5 years experience in a similar role, preferably working with Western Australian and Commonwealth Environmental legislation. Experience supervising environmental professionals, consultants and contractors (Statutory Supervisory qualifications preferable). Experience using Microsoft Office, SAP, ArcPro preferred.
