Help shape Wellington’s three waters infrastructure by leading consenting programmes Contribute to policy and regulatory changes so they are fit for purpose for our water infrastructure Work alongside multi-disciplinary teams and build relationships This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week or alternatively a part-time role with a minimum of 32 hours per week Monday to Friday if preferred The remuneration range for this role is $106,892 to $150,906 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience The opportunity As the Senior Advisor - Environmental Planning in the Resource Management and Environment Team you will support Wellington Water’s resource management consenting programme, help the organisation understand environmental legislative changes (RMA reform), and be actively involved in policy and plan changes processes. Additionally working across the company you'll also provide trusted technical advice to all teams in the company on consenting issues and environmental policy. Additionally, you will: Forecast and plan for future consenting requirements for Wellington’s water infrastructure network Develop consenting strategies Build and maintain relationships with mana whenua, client councils and regulators Keep up to date with latest developments in planning and legislative changes and contribute to submissions on these changes Assist with the preparation of submissions on district and regional plans Work with experienced multi-disciplinary teams to deliver fit for purpose solutions for the three waters network About you To be successful in this role you will bring: A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (i.e. planning, resource management or environment) 5+ years' experience in the area of consenting and/or plan change processes and application of the RMA and other relevant legislation Understanding and experience of planning frameworks Familiarity with working within legislative and other relevant frameworks appropriate to their context and professional application Understanding of tangata whenua values Membership or eligibility for membership with the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI) is preferred Benefits At Wellington Water, our purpose extends beyond delivering great water services for the region; we foster a thriving community, support a diverse workforce, and offer supportive development opportunities.
