About the role As our Senior Advisor – External Communications, you will play an important role in supporting the Communications and Brand team to build trust and strengthen the reputation of the Southern Cross brand. In this role, you will help deliver clear, consistent and engaging communications that align with business objectives and protect and enhance our reputation. You will develop and deliver communications plans with a strong focus on storytelling, provide trusted communications advice to the business, and work closely with the Head of Communications and PR to manage proactive and reactive media relations, including crisis situations. You will support spokesperson preparation and media training, contribute to crisis management and business continuity planning, and create compelling content for Southern Cross’ owned channels such as social media and the website. About you A tertiary qualification in communications, journalism or similar. 5 + years experience in corporate communications –inhouse or agency. Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging messaging and content. Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills. Digital savvy and ability to turn business insights into storytelling opportunities. A team player and strong contributor to the overall success of the team.
