We are looking to engage someone located within the local area for this role. As a Senior Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and policies that comply with all relevant regulations and industry standards. Your expertise will help us identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and provide training to our staff. This is a role that forms part of a wider safety team in South Australia, working together to meet the needs of the business as well as ensuring safety of all persons impacted by our works. The role requires a self-starter who understands the needs of the business in relation to improving and managing WHS in line with legislative and Acciona requirements and works toward building strong relationships with key stakeholders in order to continuously improve WHS. Reporting into the Safety Manager you will be responsible for: Assist in developing and embedding strategies, methods, and ways of working to support the continual evolution of WHS working practices, business integration, operational processes, project programs, efficiency and/or performance; Draft Construction Safety Management Plans in consultation with key stakeholders; Work with our Sub-Contractors to ensure to the overall legislative and project specific Safety requirements. Draft and distribute approved WHS reports; Coordinate and maintain inspection registers, audits schedules, and compliance registers; Conduct site inspections, audits, and Safety Management System reviews; Conduct and participate in the plant onboarding process; Thoroughly investigate and document near misses and incidents; Prioritise risk and opportunities in WHS, based on the wider impact on the organisation in terms of probability, scale, significance, impact and distribution; Create business cases to support proposed interventions, management to contribute to problem resolution; Make recommendations on improvements based on systematic analysis of data; Advanced communication skills and an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of stake holders. Required Skills and Competencies Key Capabilities Work in accordance with Acciona's Principles of the Way We Think and Act; Thorough understanding of the WHS legislation and the risks applicable to the construction industry; Safety focused with the shared goal of building a positive safety culture on site; Ability to build strong relationships and manage stakeholders effectively; Self-motivated with an understanding of how to practically implement the requirements of legislation into the business; Detail oriented, with the ability to develop accurate reports, presentations and construction management plans in consultation with key stakeholders; and A team player who acts in the interest of colleagues and business needs.
