About the Role We’re seeking a Senior Advisor, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) to join our team in either Sydney/Brisbane/Melbourne. In this role, you'll lead, shape, and elevate HSE performance across our business. This is your opportunity to bring expert insight, drive meaningful improvement initiatives, and partner with leaders to deliver safe, compliant, and high-performing outcomes. As a trusted HSE leader, you will provide expert advice and practical solutions that align with business objectives while ensuring compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations. You’ll play a critical role in strengthening our safety culture and driving continuous improvement. Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to: Deliver timely, expert HSE advice and collaborate closely with Business Lines Proactively engage stakeholders to implement impactful HSE initiatives Lead monitoring, reporting, and assurance activities to track compliance and performance Analyse data and insights to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement Influence and support leaders to embed best-practice HSE standards About You Suitable applicants will be/have: Degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline Experience in an engineering consulting or professional services environment ICAM Incident Investigation Training Strong knowledge of ISO standards and certified management systems Lead and/or Internal Auditor (ISO 45001, 14001, and/or 9001) Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable) Proven ability to engage, coach, and influence stakeholders at all levels Commercial acumen and understanding of business drivers Excellent communication, facilitation, and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint To find out more about SMEC, please visit our careers page at www.smec.com/careers Link to benefits: http://www.smec.com/en_au/careers/your-career-with-SMEC All recruitment activities go through our Recruitment & Talent function and currently, this role doesn’t require agency input.
