About Us | Mō mātou    City and Regional Deals is a government initiative for supporting economic growth across Aotearoa New Zealand through long-term partnerships between central and local government. The programme enables access to funding and resources to deliver regional priorities such as infrastructure, transport, and housing. Each Deal is focused on supporting communities to grow and thrive through collaboration with councils, the private sector, and Māori organisations, building long-term regional resilience.  In December 2025, the Government announced the establishment of a new agency, the Ministry of Cities, Environment, Regions and Transport. MCERT will bring together the Ministry for the Environment, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Ministry of Transport and the Local Government functions from Internal Affairs. The City and Regional Deals team will move to the new Ministry on 1 July 2026.  The role | Te tūnga  As a Senior Advisor Implementation, you will lead parts of the delivery of City and Regional Deals, supporting the end-to-end implementation of complex programmes across government and regional partners. You will play a key role in ensuring Deals are delivered to agreed standards, from supporting proposal assessments through to monitoring milestones and outcomes. Working across agencies and with regional stakeholders, you will provide high-quality, practical advice and lead project delivery, including managing timelines, risks, and stakeholder engagement. You will operate across multiple Deals, ensuring strong coordination, effective decision-making, and continuous improvement of systems and processes that support delivery.  This is a newly established team, and we are currently recruiting multiple roles to build the capability needed to deliver an ambitious and high-profile work programme.
