TE HAEATA/THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Senior – Advisor Investment to join our Strategic Finance team on a fixed term, 12-month contract. Reporting to the Strategic Finance Manager, you will provide expert investment advice and support for a range of strategic initiatives that require robust investment strategy development, planning and analysis.

In this role, you will:

  • work collaboratively across the Ministry of Justice and other agencies to develop high quality investment business cases
  • contribute to the continuous improvement of the Ministry’s investment system, with a strong focus on long-term value creation
  • provide clear, insightful advice, analysis and reporting that informs investment decisions and supports system wide transparency and performance.

Ō PŪKENGA/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you will combine your technical investment knowledge with strong communication skills and have a collaborative approach to building relationships.

You will have the following skills and experience to be successful in this role:

  • demonstrable experience with the Better Business Case investment methodology, particularly in the Finance and Economic parts of Business Cases
  • strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including developing and using Excel-based financial models
  • solid understanding of the financial machinery of government including Vote and Appropriations, and government investment systems
  • ability to write clear and accurate briefing papers, financial recommendations, and other reports for Ministers and senior governance forum
  • proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders across the Ministry.
