Wellington is preferred location | Fulltime | Permanent Midpoint of $106,849, dependent on experience Ko tōu ake mahi - What you’ll do As Senior Advisor Lived Experience, you’ll help shape evidence‑informed advice, strengthen partnerships with lived experience communities, and support programmes that drive better outcomes across the Public Health Agency and Mental Health Group. This is a meaningful role where your insight will contribute to more inclusive, responsive, and effective mental health and addiction systems. Strengthen lived experience voice and participation by guiding how key frameworks and system documents reflect the perspectives of people, whānau, and communities. Support the Ministry to embed mental health and addiction lived experience knowledge, solutions, and insights across programmes and policy work. Champion approaches that reduce system‑level stigma and improve how lived experience informs decisions, service design, and actions aimed at improving outcomes. Lead and support key work programmes, including implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement across the Group and Ministry. Build and maintain collaborative, inclusive relationships across teams, the wider health sector, government agencies, and lived experience networks to support shared goals. Ko ngā pūkenga ōu - What you’ll bring Strong knowledge of lived experience models, approaches, and narratives across mental health, addiction, and suicide prevention. Proven ability to work in line with Consumer, Peer Support, and Lived Experience values and competencies in advisory or peer‑based roles. Ability to operate confidently in complex environments, collaborating with diverse stakeholders and navigating sensitive or high‑impact work. Strong critical thinking, judgement, and communication skills, able to translate collective lived experience insights into clear, practical advice. Excellent organisational and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively, maintain confidentiality, and foster trusted partnerships.
