With continued investment in our first line of defence activities through the delivery, uplift and continuous improvement of ACC’s operational risk and control environment, we have further opportunities available.    About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi The Senior Advisor, Operational Controls plays a key role within ACC’s first line of defence, supporting business areas to take ownership of how their operations are designed, documented, and managed. In this role, you will partner closely with business leaders and operational teams to improve clarity and consistency in how processes are defined and performed, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk across day‑to‑day activities, and design and embed practical controls that support reliable, high‑quality delivery. You will also contribute to uplifting organisational capability by promoting consistent, fit‑for‑purpose ways of working across ACC.   About you | Mōu  You will bring: * Experience working within operational, service delivery, assurance, or business improvement environments in complex organisations. * A strong understanding of how people, processes, and systems interact to deliver outcomes. * Experience documenting and analysing business processes, ideally using recognised process‑mapping techniques. * The ability to apply frameworks, standards, or methodologies in a pragmatic and outcome‑focused way. * Proven capability in designing, implementing, and embedding operational improvements. * Working knowledge of operational risk management and control design principles * Sound judgement and the ability to navigate ambiguity, balancing practicality with risk and compliance considerations. * Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on end‑to‑end outcomes. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and in plain English. * Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence without formal authority. * Experience operating effectively within large, regulated, or changing organisational environments. * The ability to quickly build an understanding of ACC’s operating context, legislative environment, and service delivery model. * Experience in operational risk or controls is valued; however, strong practical operational insight and a delivery mindset are equally important.
