As an enterprise-wide function, the branch delivers high-impact services across legal, finance, people and culture, communications, and strategy, governance and risk, supporting informed decision-making and strong organisational performance.  As our Senior Advisor you’ll join the Strategy, Governance and Risk group of Te Tari Taiwhenua (Internal Affairs) - a small group with a big job. The group provides departmental leadership and oversight across strategy and performance, governance, security and resilience, and risk and assurance matters.  The role | Te tūnga     As Senior Advisor - Resilience and Recovery you will have the opportunity to work with a tight-knit team focused delivering expert advice and support to DIA’s Business Continuity Management (BCM), resilience and recovery work programme. You will work alongside the Principal Advisor Resilience and Recovery to embed effective, fit‑for‑purpose practices across DIA including contingency planning and testing, with exercises to ensure organisational readiness.  As a confident communicator, you will be comfortable operating in complex environments with the ability to tailor your communication and approach to suit a range of audiences. The key to your success will be building robust and trusted relationships across a diverse stakeholder group to encourage adoption and continuous improvement.   What you bring | Nōu te rourou  * Confidence providing trusted advice, including sound judgement, assurance, and high-quality advice  * A collaborative, influencing style—working across portfolios and branches and influencing stakeholders without direct authority  * Strong experience in business continuity management, resilience, incident response or a closely related field.  * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor advice, briefings and guidance for different audiences and levels of understanding.  * A practical, continuous improvement mindset, with the initiative to identify issues and contribute solutions.  * Experience developing clear, usable guidance materials and internal communications.  * Experience with CIMS and familiarity with public sector operating environments will be an advantage.  For you | Mōu  At the Department of Internal Affairs, we are committed to offering a collaborative and innovative culture where your perspective and ideas will be welcomed.
