Responsibilities

We’re looking for a motivated and capable senior social media practitioner to join our close-knit, hardworking and supportive team.
As Senior Advisor Social Media, you’ll bring strategic thinking, creative flair and sound judgement to a role that’s central to how we connect with our audiences. You’ll work across the Ministry to provide expert advice and hands-on support, helping teams use social media to inform, engage and build trust.

The Senior Advisor, Social Media will:

  • create and publish engaging content that’s tailored to each channel and audience, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok
  • work closely with teams across the Ministry to plan and deliver social media activity that supports their work and reflects our shared goals
  • monitor our social media communities and the wider online environment, responding to comments and messages, encouraging positive engagement, identifying emerging conversations, and escalating issues
  • analyse performance and generate insights to help us improve our content and engagement strategies
  • make sure our channels and practices meet all relevant policies, procedures and requirements.

Salary range: $99,496 to $120,690 + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.
