  • Full Time Fixed Term Contract until October 2026
  • Salary from $129K pa to $142K pa + super
  • Location – All DPIRD offices will be considered
    NSW Resources are looking for a Senior Advisory Officer to join their Mine Closure Unit (MCU) until October 2026.
    In 2025/26, the focus for the team will include the delivery of projects arising from the recent Beneficial and Productive Post Mining Land Use Inquiry.
    The MCU will also work closely with the NSW Future Jobs and Investment Authority, as it is established, to identify opportunities and priorities for post mining land use in mining dependent regions.
    As a Senior Advisory Officer, you’ll work closely with stakeholders to facilitate post mining land use and alternate forms of employment on mine sites in NSW.

You’ll also:

  • Provide tailored case management and expert advice
  • Develop clear, practical guidance and pathways within the NSW planning and rehabilitation frameworks
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to resolve barriers and drive outcomes
  • Prepare high-quality reports, briefing notes, and strategic materials to support departmental and ministerial priorities
