The Sr. AI Engineer/Scientist, Image Intelligence at Danaher Corporation will be a key member of the AI Product and Imaging Innovation team, reporting to its Sr Director. This role will be instrumental in developing and implementing cutting-edge AI systems that extract meaningful information from images, with the goal of upleveling Danaher’s imaging devices across Life Sciences and Diagnostics sectors. This position is remote.
THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, life sciences or a related field. Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a relevant area (e.g., Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Computational Imaging or Life Sciences) is preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in the Life Science, Diagnostic, or Tech Industry, including 5+ years of experience in AI/ML roles with a focus on computer vision and image processing.
- Proven track record of successful end-to-end implementation of AI projects in imaging applications, particularly in life sciences or healthcare domains and deep expertise in machine learning and computer vision, including proficiency with established technologies such as convolutional neural networks and emerging technologies like foundation models and vision transformers.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or C++, and extensive experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) for large-scale image processing and familiarity with hardware acceleration technologies (e.g. TPUs, GPUs, ARM-CPUs).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and align AI development with product goals and roadmaps.
IT WOULD BE A PLUS IF YOU ALSO POSSESS PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN:
- Experience with regulatory processes, especially for medical devices and AI/ML-based software as a medical device (SaMD).
- Familiarity with quality management systems and standards relevant to the life sciences and diagnostics industries.
- Knowledge of multi-modal AI in domains involving text, image and other data types and knowledge of instrument control mechanisms and how they integrate with AI systems for enhanced automation.
