Description

Overview:
FTI is seeking a Senior Aeronautical Systems Engineer to support USAF acquisition on modernization of aircraft systems in a variety of areas (i.e. defensive suite updates, targeting pod and communications upgrades, development/platform integration/qualification, airworthiness and test). A successful canditate perform B-52H Systems Integration and Modernization Analysis following the SEEK EAGLE process.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting established systems engineering processes
  • Analyzing and making recommendations to the government in the area of airworthiness
  • Review and comment on numerous documents, such as assessment reports, system engineering plans, and other technical documents
  • Studying and recommending the use and application of modern software tools supporting engineering development
  • Support B-52 sustainment tracking for spares &/or depot maintenance, or aircraft modification progress and dependency reporting using FTI tools
  • Support milestone readiness assessments and budget/cost estimates across all modernization programs
  • Understand the JDAM program developments, issues and roadmap as they pertain to B-52

Education/Qualifications:

  • Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
  • Master’s degree in Engineering strongly preferred
  • 8+ years actively working as an Aircraft Systems or Systems Engineer
  • Ability to think critically, synthesize information from multiple sources into comprehensive plans, identify technical issues, and understand higher level impacts
  • Familiarity with MS Excel and other MS Office tools to develop concise and presentable information
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills to deliver technical documents and briefings
  • Must be able to support airworthiness approvals across the B-52H modification programs
  • Ability to work independently with cross functional teams with minimal oversight
  • Ability to travel (~15% of time)
