Description

Manulife is looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Data & Decision Management team within Global Operations!
This position is accountable for organizing and analyzing a multitude of data sources to deliver meaningful, measurable, and actionable insights to achieve our strategic priorities, ambitions, and goals within Global Ops. The position will be responsible for navigating the availability, quality and limitations of Manulife systems data and third-party data sources. Curiosity and the desire to understand the broader business context will be key elements for this role to enable business users to make data-driven decisions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree in quantitative based field (e.g. Statistics, Science, Engineering, Computer Science).
  • 5+ years of experience with data analytics, data mining, or statistics.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide deliverables in a remote environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the integrity and confidence to liaise with executives and senior management – articulating a clear view of concepts, ideas and objectives is key.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate, synthesize, and present complex information in a concise value-added form.
  • Ability to evaluate the feasibility and practicality of ideas. Taking a balanced-risk approach to promote the growth of ideas.
  • Comfortable in high-pressure environments.
  • Proven team builder and strong collaborator with the ability to build strategic partnerships with internal clients and vendors; builds buy-in and engagement with key stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in analysis packages and programming languages such as SQL, R, Python and/or SAS would be nice to have.
