OVERVIEW

Reporting to Senior Manager, Data Management and Governance, the Senior Analyst, Data Management is responsible for contributing to the enterprise data governance framework for data practices, policies, and standards both at a technical and functional level. They will support the development and enforcement of data practices per changing regulatory or internal policies and support the development of data strategies to meet compliance requirements. This role will also strengthen efforts in ongoing and future data governance projects aimed at increasing access to the organizational data assets and will be at the center of our push for data centralization. The successful candidate will also oversee and own assigned projects and ensure predetermined requirements are met.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, statistics, mathematics, business, or equivalent experience
  • Certificate in business process mapping, business intelligence, artificial intelligence solution deployment or ERP management would be considered an asset

EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years experience in data strategy, data governance, data analysis, and other administrative data functions including data integration, collection, distribution, modelling
  • Experience developing mass data loads solutions and actioning BAU data processing initiatives
  • Proven experience analyzing and managing enterprise data domains
  • Skilled at translating business requirements from technical into functional
  • Ability to communicate complex data problems using non-technical terms to key stakeholders

Knowledge/Competencies/Skills

  • Strong knowledge of ERP data, preference for work experience with SAP ECC or S/4 Hana (MM, SD, FICO)
  • Working knowledge of data transformations principles and automation
  • Experience with large data extracts, data synthesis and developing reports using front-end BI tools (Power BI or other)
  • Strong process mapping experience, including data mapping and data lineage
  • Experience with data domain ownership, including developing data stewards working groups
  • Effective problem solving, planning, negotiation, and execution skills
  • Good communication skills at all levels of the organization, both oral and written
  • Strong creative and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Visio

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the creation, enforcement, and maintenance of data policies and procedures that ensure effective organizational usage of data.
  • Supporting the deployment and utilization of technology and data governance tools to support data maturity growth, e.g. business data glossary, data catalogue, data quality, and data lineage.
  • Coordinating the aggregation of data from multiple sources to allow for pattern analysis, data anomalies, exception report creation, and discrepancies resolution planning.
  • Supporting the rollout of the data strategy, framework, and implementation plan, including prioritization of critical data and its downstream impacts to the business.
  • Supporting the centralized data processing efforts for core master data domains, including vendors, items, and contracts, while fostering improvements to the current state.
  • Ensuring that Data Governance processes are integrated into other supporting business units (e.g. Project Management, Product Management, Business Intelligence).
  • Developing change management collateral and protocols that create easier adoption for data management initiatives.
  • Supporting improvements to our material database with a strong focus on category management, metadata management and establishing data stewardship for managed data domains.
  • Creating vendor, contract and purchase order records in the SAP system, ensuring error-free builds based on provided information.
  • Supporting the design and governance of vendor onboarding and master data creation processes, embedding strong controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to policy standards.
