Join our collaborative and supportive team within the Financial System Assessment group Support our nationally significant workstreams and flagship publications Permanent, Wellington or Auckland based role Te tūranga – The role The System Effectiveness and Engagement team assesses the performance of the financial system in delivering the innovative, competitive, resilient and inclusive functions and services required by New Zealanders. The team also leads RBNZ's financial system engagement, domestically with CoFR partners across government, and internationally with organisations including the IMF and NGFS, and key bilateral partners such as APRA and the RBA. As Senior Analyst, you will work with other Senior Analysts and Advisers to conduct in-depth research and analyses across a range of areas to address the complex challenges facing New Zealand’s financial system. You will leverage your technical knowledge and strong written and verbal communication skills to contribute to our external publications, shape our policies, support our decision-making and advance our understanding of financial system dynamics and outcomes for New Zealanders. Ō pūkenga – About you We’re looking for a collaborative team member, who can communicate well and work to deadlines effectively. To be successful in this role you will have: Relevant professional experience, perhaps in the fields of banking, insurance, financial markets, financial stability, accounting, macroeconomics, economics, or at other central banks Strong analytical, research and communication skills Understanding of financial systems, especially banking and regulatory frameworks Experience with data collections or policy analysis The proven ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships Experience in the analysis of financial system dynamics involving AI, digital assets and tokenisation, climate-related risk, financial inclusion or the Māori economy would be advantageous Ko wai matou – Who we are We’re kaitiaki (guardians) of New Zealand’s financial ecosystem – enabling economic wellbeing and prosperity for all New Zealanders. The anticipated appointment range for this role is $133,185 to $147,205 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
