Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Development, optimization and establishment of methods for sophisticated residue analyses
• Development of methods for the determination of plant protection product active ingredients and relevant metabolites
• Handling complex sample matrices and challenging analytical problems
• Method development and optimization for LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS
• Planning and execution of method characterization, verification and validation
• Orientation towards current professional requirements and guidelines, in particular the SANTE documents
• Optimization of sample preparation, extraction, clean-up and instrumental conditions
• Evaluation of matrix effects, recoveries, limits of detection and quantification, and other methodological parameters
• Handover of established methods to the responsible test managers and support in their implementation
• Expert advice on new analytical questions and study concepts
• Technical responsibility for the equipment used in residue analysis
• Installation, commissioning, configuration and optimization of analytical systems
• Performing maintenance, fault diagnosis and minor repairs
• Coordination and/or support of manufacturer and service technician deployments
• Documentation and organization of maintenance, repairs and equipment malfunctions
• Assessment of replacement investments, new acquisitions and technical development needs
• Participation in the selection and procurement of new laboratory and analytical equipment
• Further development of analytical processes and laboratory standards

Your profile:

• Completed studies in a natural science, ideally chemistry, analytical chemistry, food chemistry, pharmacy or a comparable field.
• Several years of relevant professional experience in instrumental analysis and method development
• Solid practical experience with LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS
• Excellent knowledge in the development and optimization of analytical methods
• Ideally, several years of experience in residue analysis of plant protection products.
• Experience with multi-method pesticide application or pesticide spectrum
• Experience in processing complex matrices
• Good knowledge of the requirements and recommendations for method development in the field of plant protection product analysis, in particular SANTE guidance
• Strong understanding of sample preparation, matrix effects and mass spectrometry
• High level of technical understanding of analytical instruments and their peripherals
• Enjoyment of troubleshooting, maintenance and technical problem solving
• Independent, analytical and solution-oriented work style
• High quality awareness and strong sense of personal responsibility
• Good German and English skills

Advantageous:

• Experience with QuEChERS, QuPPe and similar sample preparation methods
• Experience with complex plant or biological matrices
• Knowledge of handling different manufacturer systems in the field of LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS
• Experience with software for device and data analysis
