Description

We are recruiting for a Senior Analyst in Insights & Analytics.
This role will involve working with actuarial and investment client teams in scoping and delivering ALM / LDI modelling, as well as acting as a guide around utilising and interpreting our broader suite of in-house analytics. On a day to day basis, the role will involve running and checking modelling work, technical analysis and providing input into the production of client advice and reports. On a periodic basis, this work may extend across the full range of areas our Client Services team is responsible for, including longevity analysis (e.g. Club Vita), and long term modelling in the DC and retail wealth domains. There will also be opportunities to collaborate with other teams to evolve the modelling and analytics that support our client services.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work experience in a related role will be of interest; in particular, some familiarity with ALM/LDI modelling in a pension scheme context in either an actuarial, investment or technical capacity would be valued
  • Proven numerical, analytical or data manipulation skills. It would be helpful if these had been gained in a financial services or other commercial environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and using R or another programming language would be desirable
  • Some understanding of the legislative framework for UK pension schemes and/or broad investment knowledge would be helpful
  • May be actively studying towards IFoA/FFA qualification; study support would be provided for continuing studies
  • Logical thinker
  • Accurate and organised
  • Ability to monitor, prioritise and deliver own workload
  • Adaptable and flexible approach
  • Active team player
We work alongside employers, trustees and financial services institutions, offering independent pensions, investments, benefits and risk consulting services, as well as data and technology solutions.
That’s the who and the what. More important is the ‘why’. The work we do may not always seem the sexiest. But it’s difficult, it’s complex, and it’s important. We help our clients, their employees, members and customers make decisions that have real and direct consequences on their financial futures.
For 100 years we’ve taken this responsibility seriously. Together, as a team and with our clients and partners, we’re here to build better futures
Responsibilities
  • Liaising with internal client teams to help them scope ALM and LDI exercises, and to support them in interpreting modelling outputs as part of the delivery of broader strategic advice to our external clients
  • Preparing data, validating and assessing suitability for use
  • Running and checking models and analysing output
  • Checking own results for reasonableness as well as the work of others
  • Preparing reports and providing requested information to colleagues and clients
  • Contributing to effective knowledge transfer within the team
  • Liaising with internal client teams and external parties to perform all necessary data processing, calculation and reporting
  • Responsible for ensuring projects have suitable resources allocated to ensure timescales are met and high delivery standards maintained
  • Developing an in depth understanding of current working procedures and systems applications
  • Working with the other members of the team and people in the wider business on ad-hoc projects, both relating to client projects and to improve efficiency and refine new processes
  • Adhering to the firm’s Information Security standards, policies and procedures
