MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of analytical experience in program analysis, development,
implementation, research, and/or evaluation.
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field for the assigned discipline, such as
political science, public administration, statistics, mathematics, etc., may be substituted for one (1)
of the years of required experience. An additional four (4) years of professional experience as noted
above may substitute for the bachelor’s degree. Or, additional directly related experience and/or
education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
OR
Master’s degree in a directly related field for the assigned discipline, such as political science, public
administration, statistics, mathematics, etc., that included qualitative and quantitative research, and
one (1) year of analytical experience in program analysis, development, implementation, research,
and/or evaluation.
OR
One (1) year in the Analyst classification with the Judicial Council of California or one (1) year of
experience performing the duties of a class comparable in the level of responsibility to that of an
Analyst in a California superior court or California state-level government entity.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of court case processing
  • Prior government work experience
  • Data literacy and knowledge of data governance concepts
  • Experience with SharePoint and Drupal

Responsibilities

Lead staff to the JBSIS Subcommittee of CEAC:

  • Develop and track progress on annual agendas and workplans.
  • Support decision-making through research into laws, regulations, and court practices.

Uphold JBSIS data reporting rules:

  • Interpret legal code sections and court case processes
  • Research and answer staff questions about data definitions.

JBSIS data governance:

  • Create policy documents and updates to the reporting manual.
  • Classify and tag data elements according to their quality, sensitivity, and strategic importance.

Internal JBSIS consulting:

  • Advise other Judicial Council offices and advisory bodies on using JBSIS to support their data reporting and policy needs.
  • Advise on public access requests and media inquiries.

Maintain the JBSIS reporting website:

  • Manage access to the site and other internal data products.
  • Update the website with new resources.
