  Job details •Proposed designation  Senior Analyst •Role type  Individual Contributor •Reporting to   Assistant Manager/Manager •Geo to be supported  US •Work timings  General shift    Roles & responsibilities We are recruiting an India/US qualified lawyer who can be effective member of the KGS OGC team, that complements the activities of Office of the General Counsel of KPMG LLP in the US. The role is focused on contracts for the delivery of commercial, technology & related services; and lease abstraction. KPMG LLP is the US member of the international KPMG network of professional services firms and provides audit, tax and advisory services to a wide variety of clients.  The US Office of General Counsel (OGC) is a very busy department providing support on engagement commercial issues across the whole firm.  It plays a key role in the drafting and negotiation of engagement letters, technology contracts and other agreements related to the firm’s services and managing the firm’s risk.  The team also supports client teams on engagement contract issues relating to proposals and tenders. A team of lawyers based in India has already been formed to support the work of the US OGC team. Now applications are encouraged for team member roles. The successful candidate is likely to be already providing similar contracting services as an in-house lawyer in another consultancy/professional services firm. The person appointed will be an effective team player, interested in the opportunity to join the legal team servicing the US member of one of the world’s largest networks of professional services providers The recruit will complement the activities of the members of the onshore team by: •assisting in the negotiation and agreement of client and vendor contracts and related queries •responding to GDPR/Data Privacy related queries for both client engagement and supplier contract •responding to miscellaneous engagement contract-related enquiries  •liaising with and supporting other technical departments •reviewing lease documents and creating a lease abstract in  given format/template •creating an initial lease abstract with new leases as well as updating lease abstracts with information from lease amendments   This role is for you if you have  the below Educational qualifications •LLB or LLM Work experience The candidate must have minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with a Big 4 firm or expertise in technology agreements in a •large MNC •Skillset: Contract Specialist and Abstraction Mandatory  technical & functional skills •experience handling legal/contracting queries, drafting/amending legal documents, and lease contract abstraction •Indian or US qualified attorney/lawyer with minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant post qualification experience •analytical abilities with attention to details •ability to articulate points in writing and orally, clearly and succinctly •ability to persuade where necessary •negotiating abilities •capabilities in Outlook, Word, Excel and use of websites •willingness to acquire knowledge of OGC’s practices and processes Key behavioural attributes/requirements ••ability to be calm under pressure •ability to handle difficult or pressurized situations or people •commercial judgement and the ability to balance conflicting demands •initiative, self-confidence and authority •understanding of the risks faced by providers of professional services •awareness of cultural issues affecting regulated professional services firms •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills •Client-service orientation with the ability to create effective working relationships cross-functionally, including interfacing with internal and external stakeholders on legal and business matters Other information •Interview process: 2-3 rounds of interviews •Does the job role involve travelling: No Does the busy season apply to this role?: No
