    The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Senior Analyst, Payments & Reporting to provide a critical role within Police, Racing, Victims & Coordination

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold a tertiary qualification(s) in commerce, finance or a related discipline
  • Completion of the Membership of the Australian Society of CPA’s or the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants program would be an advantage.
Responsibilities

You will undertake ongoing financial reconciliation, reporting and analysis including preparation of monthly budget variance reports and forecasts and ad hoc financial reports as required in relation to the Financial Assistance Scheme while also identifying and escalating issues and look for opportunities to improve processes and outcomes and identify potential practical solutions to problems.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures by ensuring all financial transactions are captured accurately and that it meets compliance with relevant policies and procedures and all governance and accountability standards are met.
  • Provide strategic, authoritative, and evidence-based advice to the senior managers to support the development of budgets, strategic and business planning, risk management strategies, change and project management activities.
  • Prepare briefs, reports, service plans and recommendations on complex issues which are clear, exhaustive, and provide strong support for a preferred position or action.
