MANDATORY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE

  • Several years of experience in data-engineering and/or analytics positions within fast-paced, large-scale production environments
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling concepts (Dimensional modelling / Star schemas).
  • Proven experience building dashboards and reports, preferablywith either ThoughtSpot or PowerBI
  • Experience with data lineage and data governance best practices.
  • Data curious and always willing to dive into complex data issues to understand and improve problem areas
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD processes (Azure Devops, Git, version control, deployment pipelines).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

DESIRABLE (BUT NOT ESSENTIAL) SKILLS

  • Experience of Snowflake cloud data warehouse including SnowSQL
  • Experience of programming/scripting languages (e.g. Python / PowerShell)
  • Experience of building production systems utilising cloud technologies, with particular value in expertise with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience deploying software or data products to external customers, preferably within the financial services industry
  • Certification in Azure, Snowflake, ThoughtSpot, PowerBI is particularly desirable
  • Experience of working in an Agile development environment (e.g. Kanban / Scrumban)
  • GenAI experience inc Cursor and ChatGPT
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain a suite of client facing ThoughtSpot liveaboards, alongside internal PowerBI dashboards
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Snowflake and Azure technology
  • Design data models and ensure accurate data lineage.
  • Write efficient and optimized SQL queries to support reporting and analytics needs.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for analytics workflows and transformations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into dashboards.
  • Ensure dashboards and data solutions are performant, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of our data observability, governance and quality metrics
  • Support best practices in data governance, quality, and documentation.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and our customers.
