Description:
ABOUT ZERO HOMES
At Zero Homes, our mission is to electrify the world’s homes for healthy and sustainable living. With residential buildings responsible for 20% of national climate emissions, there is an extraordinary opportunity to get homes off fossil fuels, help homeowners save money, and impact decarbonization at scale. Zero Homes is pioneering a frictionless, digital sales and install experience to accelerate the transition to an all-electric future with a category defining software product. We enable homeowners everywhere, with a commodity smartphone, to get high quality advice, actionable quotes, and affordable installations without a single home visit.
Our focus is to make electrifying homes accessible, affordable, and delightful. Join our team to help lead the charge and accelerate the energy transition.
Responsibilities:
This is an exciting opportunity to create delightful homeowner experiences for electrification projects. You will join a seed stage team of talented engineers and product designers, led by seasoned climate tech veterans. This is a generalist, individual contributor role that will report to a Lead Engineer. We work in small teams (1 designer and 1-2 programmers) in six-week cycles to take loosely defined projects and deliver new features. You will be given broad latitude to make project-level design decisions and expected to operate effectively with minimal oversight. As a Senior Android Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering and maintaining high-quality features using the latest Jetpack Compose framework. These features will enable homeowners to capture crucial information about their homes, helping our assessors provide accurate quotes. The codebase is still in its infancy, giving you the opportunity to influence its architecture and shape it with high quality code and unit tests. There will be exciting opportunities to work with computer vision in the near future.
