Description

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in system analysis and design including in requirements gathering and documenting functional requirements, understanding business requirements/process, designing web applications, integration and user interfaces in spatial domain.
  • Application development experience, including development of complex modules and custom functionality; development of integrations, APIs and other web services.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical support and maintenance of digital services, including triaging, analysis and troubleshooting of issues in a high-pressure environment; use of configuration and version management, continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment tools; and use of project management tools like Jira/Confluence.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the below tools/software or similar:
  • ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, Python, ArcGIS server , FME Form / Flow
  • MS-SQL database and Geodatabase including developing Views, Stored Procedures and Functions.
  • Geocortex / Vertigis
  • HTML/Java Script, ESRI ArcGIS JavaScript API, Angular/React, .Net, Azure DevOps

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Tertiary qualifications in application development or other relevant field and/or equivalent knowledge and substantial experience in the IT, Spatial and /or application development industry

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The Senior Application Developer (Spatial) plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining software and system solutions for spatial data and applications. Day-to-day operations include implementing and managing spatial data practices, promoting technology adoption, and providing technical consulting to align solutions with ICT strategy and architecture. The ideal candidate is someone who understands how to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure rapid service delivery, reliability, and innovation.
As Senior Application Developer (Spatial), you will be challenged with navigating a diverse environment with multiple stakeholders and evolving technologies. This role demands attention and dedication to standardise processes, manage spatial infrastructure, and contribute to the strategic direction of spatial data use within the agency.
