JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Application Programmer to join our development team. This individual will play a crucial role in the design, development, and support of web applications using modern technologies including C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, and more. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with web development, Agile methodologies, and a deep understanding of programming best practices. Additionally, the Senior Application Programmer will collaborate with teams to enhance the performance of applications and systems, while providing mentorship and training to junior team members.

REQUIRED EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Five (5) years of experience in web development with the following technologies:
  • C#
  • ASP.NET Core
  • Entity Framework
  • Two (2) years of experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment.
  • Proven experience working with DPS (Department of Public Safety) projects or similar large-scale initiatives.

DESIRABLE EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Two (2) years of recent experience developing applications using the MVC architecture with .NET Core (2.x or 3.x).
  • Proficiency with VueJS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript for front-end development.
  • Strong experience working with SQL Server (T-SQL), SSIS, and SSRS for database management and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Distributed Design Systems (SOA/Microservices).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with State of Louisiana Enterprise Architecture (EA) and other state services such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), and the Pelican Design System.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and/or supporting financial systems or similar applications.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining systems for federal, state, or local government entities, particularly the Louisiana Department of Public Safety.

    Pay: $94,898.00 - $140,018.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Web Development: Design, code, compile, test, debug, and document both new and existing web applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, and HTML.
  • Application Maintenance: Perform ongoing maintenance and support for existing applications to ensure their continued functionality.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality assurance reviews and testing on new code to ensure it meets performance and functionality standards.
  • Agile/Scrum Participation: Actively participate in all necessary Scrum ceremonies and team meetings, contributing to the iterative development process.
  • Knowledge Transfer & Training: Provide technical knowledge transfer, training, documentation, mentorship, and guidance to State personnel for all assigned work.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor, review, and audit the performance of the customer-agency’s replacement software, making necessary performance improvements as needed.
