As a Senior Application Technologist, you will lead the development of innovative and competitive seasoning solutions that meet customer specifications and adhere to Symrise formulation standards. You will bring a proven track record of technical success backed by extensive expertise in seasonings, raw materials and bases. This role involves taking full ownership of projects, offering technical training, mentoring junior application technologists and building strong relationships with customers.

This position presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to have a significant impact on the food and flavor industry, contributing to both customer success and Symrise’s growth.The Position:

• Lead development work on key snack accounts independently.
• Create innovative and competitive seasoning solutions that meet customer briefs and align with Symrise formulation standards, with a strong track record of technical success.
• Demonstrate deep expertise in seasonings, raw materials and base applications such as bouillons, noodles, sauces and snacks.
• Provide technical training and guidance to application technologists across the region and mentor junior team members on Symrise’s standards and best practices.
• Support the commercial team by participating in customer visits, presentations and workshops, offering technical insights and demonstrating product value.
• Promote and apply Symrise technologies to deliver differentiated, value-added solutions for clients.
• Effectively communicate Symrise’s flavor and snack seasoning capabilities to customers, enhancing the company’s positioning.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships while collaborating with cross functional teams to co-create innovative solutions that meet market demands and contribute to business growth.
• Assist the portfolio team in expanding and maintaining a robust flavor library.
• Continuously enhance flavor and raw material palette to support rapid product development and speed-to-market initiatives.
• Conduct proactive research into new application techniques and seasoning matrices across a variety of snack bases
• Support the Application Manager in product scale-up, troubleshooting raw material harmonization, technical knowledge sharing and regional training programs.
• Coordinate the regular maintenance and servicing of laboratory equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or related field
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in food or flavor industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong knowledge of good laboratory practices
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Ability to thrive in a multi-cultural environment
• Open to trave for work-related purposes
• Comfortable working in a laboratory setting
