ABOUT THE ROLE

The Information Technology Group (ITG) is a collection of people, processes and technology investments that are designed to achieve the business goals of FTI Consulting. The Senior Applications Architect leads and is responsible for the architecture and design of one or more technical areas. Responsibilities include determining and formalizing design objectives and elements, standardization, cost modeling, benefit and risk analysis, capacity planning and similar functions to deliver holistic and cost-effective solutions that meet the required business objectives.
The ideal candidate should have a general understanding of IT, Finance, Economics, or Tax. They should also possess a solid understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Azure. The candidate must be capable of independently assessing business needs and requirements, and effectively documenting architectural scope and specifications.
They should be able to follow a design methodology independently and execute a solution from the initial concept through to a fully developed and documented implementation. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires direct interaction with clients and business stakeholders to deliver effective solutions. Additionally, the candidate should proactively measure and report on global architecture maturity, and contribute to defining and tracking program success metrics

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Focus on applications architecture, applications integration and interface development and management.
  • Define the tasks, processes, procedures and the overall plan used for disaster backup and recovery of the designed solution.
  • Work with business entities to understand and define business requirements.
  • Work with vendors to understand and assess the technical capabilities of solution offerings to ensure the sustainability of a proposed solution.
  • Ensure that the business and technical architecture of delivered solutions match customer requirements.
  • May directly supervise other staff in the completion of projects and assigned tasks.
  • Conceive, design, and oversee the strategy and implementation of enterprise-wide systems development.
  • Perform technology assessments to enhance and/or support new and existing IT systems.
  • Document and present system architecture for new systems to company leadership and/or clients.
  • Develop global architecture and maturity standards for one or more technology areas. Monitor and report on adherence and recommend improvements.
  • Assist the Vice President, Enterprise Architecture in performing design, analysis and recommendation for a wide variety of IT systems and technologies.
  • Provide IT systems administration and architecture development including monitoring and capacity planning.
  • Generate and maintain metrics for trending.
  • Analyze and maintain performance data to monitor usage and optimization of the architecture.
  • Responsible for the execution and maintenance of:
  • Operational Calendars
  • Use and compliance with FTI’s Change Management Control Process
  • Use and compliance with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards when developing solutions
  • Responsible for providing high quality project management services on all assignments with little to no involvement from management.
  • Provide input to and manage all budgetary expenses as it relates to assigned projects.
  • Provide high level support to assist other staff in resolving complex issues.
  • Proactively engage management as necessary to resolve issues and ensure awareness of potential dangers to the environment.
  • Provide on-call support via cellphone 24 x 7.
  • Perform daily time entry to record billable and non – billable time.
  • Take on responsibilities as a backup or alternate for other IT staff.
  • Cover and resolve any outstanding Service Desk related issues in an effort to help all IT members resolve tickets as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Physical labor from time to time, which may include moving equipment, furniture, etc.
