Senior Applications Engineer / Applications Manager / Principal Optical Engineer required for a global manufacturer of optical fabrication and metrology equipment.
The successful Senior Applications Engineer / Applications Manager / Principal Optical Engineer will be responsible for providing expert solutions, demonstrations and training on high precision optical components nationwide. This includes expertise in CNC grinding, polishing, metrology instruments and coatings.
The successful Senior Applications Engineer / Applications Manager / Principal Optical Engineer will live in Massachusetts or neighboring states and have a strong technical background in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metrology, Precision Engineering or Manufacturing.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Prior experience as a Senior Applications Engineer / Applications Manager / Principal Optical Engineer or similar role
• Relevant qualifications such as a PhD or degree in Optical Engineering, Optics, Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering or relevant work experience
• Willingness to travel nationally across the US when required
• Residence in Massachusetts or a neighboring state

• Provide expert solutions, demonstrations and training at customer sites, on high precision optical components which will include CNC grinding, polishing, metrology and coatings
• Build and nurture customer relationships to grow strong partnerships and retain business
• Develop and refine optical fabrication processes to meet customer requirements
• Install, configure and calibrate optical manufacturing systems
• Support the sales team with aftersales and technical support
• Maintain all lab equipment used for technical demonstrations
• Based in Massachusetts with national travel as required
