About the role As a Senior Architect, you will lead design and delivery of high-profile projects in India and across Asia Pacific (APAC). This is a strategic leadership role that combines design excellence, project management, team and office leadership, and client engagement. We provide our people with: * The opportunity to lead projects of global significance in Brisbane and across APAC * A collaborative international network of experts and design leaders * Career development opportunities, including leadership training, mentorship, and global mobility * A vibrant workplace culture where creativity, collaboration, and innovation are valued Key Responsibilities * Design Leadership: Drive design vision across projects, from concept through to delivery, ensuring design excellence and innovation in line with Populous’ global standards. * Project Delivery: Oversee planning, and resource management of large-scale projects. * Client Engagement: Serve as point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships with developers, government bodies, and private partners. Should have demonstrable experience in this aspect and report directly to the India office leadership. * Team and Office Leadership: Mentor and inspire our amazing architects to grow and develop their capabilities and achieve their goals. Important to be able to manage the team and get the desired outcomes, all while working with other office leaders to continue taking the office forward as part of the broader APAC region. * Coordinate with international Populous offices on joint projects, knowledge sharing, and global best practices. * Business Development Support: Contribute to winning work through pitches, proposals, and thought leadership in the Indian market working with the India Leaders. Qualifications & Experience * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a recognised institution. Master’s degree preferred. * 10+ years of professional experience, including successful leadership on large-scale projects and in leading teams (sports, entertainment, mixed-use, or public assembly preferred). * Strong portfolio demonstrating both design excellence and delivery of complex projects. * Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders. * Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English (Hindi or regional languages a plus). * Registered Architect in India (COA). * Experience in international projects and/or working with global design firms is an advantage.
