responsibilities:

  • Prepare discipline estimates and work plans.
  • Review and approve design documents.
  • Interpret regulations and assist with performance reporting.
  • Prepare specifications, building code analyses, material requisitions, technical studies, and reports.
  • Check design drawings and coordinate vendor information.
  • Lead technical discussions and constructability reviews.
  • Prepare original designs, layouts, details, and specifications, using independent judgment.
  • Analyze and solve complex design problems, including those with conflicting requirements.
  • Evaluate and report on unconventional materials and techniques.
  • Prepare or assist with cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and conceptual studies.
  • Prepare procurement documents, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to other architectural personnel.
  • Resolve design issues with various stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and other disciplines.
  • Act as a mentor or coach for junior architects and designers.
  • Use 3D modeling software for project designs and plans.
  • Support construction by handling field change requests and nonconformance reports.

Required Education and Experience
Education: A bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent). A Master’s degree in Architecture is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience with a bachelor’s degree.
  • 9-12 years of relevant work experience without a degree.
  • Prior experience in facility design/layout, building code analysis, and Revit modeling/renderings.
  • Prior experience working with government agencies, particularly the Department of Defense, is preferred.
    Certifications: Registered Architect is preferred.
