Description

Senior Architectural Technologist
Location: Norfolk
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Reports To: Director / Senior Management Team
About Us
We are a leading main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-end, bespoke residential properties throughout Norfolk. Known for exceptional craftsmanship, technical precision, and attention to detail, our projects push the boundaries of quality construction. As our portfolio of architecturally ambitious and technically complex homes continues to grow, we’re looking to strengthen our team with the addition of a Senior Architectural Technologist.
Role Overview
As a Senior Architectural Technologist, you will play a key role in the technical delivery and coordination of residential construction projects, working closely with our in-house team, external consultants, and clients. This is a senior position suited to someone confident in navigating the detail of bespoke builds, with a sharp eye for quality, buildability, and construction excellence.
You will also have the opportunity to lead the design and technical delivery of our own design and build projects, taking concepts from initial brief through to completion. This is an exciting chance to not just contribute to, but to help shape and define architecturally striking homes that carry our name and reflect our values of quality, innovation, and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee technical coordination of high-end residential projects from pre-construction through delivery
· Interpret architectural designs into fully coordinated construction information and working drawings
· Lead the design development of in-house design and build schemes
· Collaborate with clients to develop briefs and present design concepts
· Liaise with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical challenges
· Ensure all technical documentation complies with Building Regulations and construction best practices
· Review and contribute to build programs, procurement planning, and material specifications
· Support site teams during construction, providing guidance on detailing, buildability, and sequencing
· Assist with technical submittals, drawing reviews, and quality assurance processes
· Lead value engineering discussions without compromising design intent
Skills & Experience
· Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a technical role within the construction or residential sector
· Proven track record in delivering complex, bespoke homes or high-end residential developments
· Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, construction detailing, and build processes
· Excellent CAD/Revit skills (Revit proficiency desirable but not essential)
· Confident communicator able to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
· Attention to detail, with a methodical and solution-oriented approach
· CIAT Chartered status or working towards it is advantageous
Desirable
· Experience working with high-end materials and finishes
· Familiarity with sustainable or Passivhaus construction methods
· Knowledge of custom home client expectations and the premium residential market
What We Offer
· Competitive salary reflective of experience and seniority
· A rare opportunity to influence both the design and build of exceptional homes
· Involvement in exciting in-house design and build projects
· A collaborative, supportive, and quality-driven working environment
· Continued professional development and leadership opportunities
· Flexible/hybrid working options
