Job Title: Senior Assembly Technician (Prototype) Location: Portsmouth Broad Oak Salary: Up to £41,305 depending on skills and experience What you’ll be doing: Assemble/process products in accordance with defined work instructions/detailed technical drawings Repair/modify current and legacy products Work to limited data utilising experience Support and assist in the training of personnel Work unsupervised Your skills and experiences: The ability to assemble/process products in accordance with verbal instruction for a prototype department and to work to limited technical data available utilising experience to rectify and problem solve accordingly Have a comprehensive understanding of wiring, crimping & soldering and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Assembly/Repair/Modifications Experience performing complex assembly/disassembly or modification tasks on electronic components, subassemblies and systems – encompassing new build, repairs products or prototype products Have an extensive range of product experience and broad/deep expertise in electrical discipline Ideally working at IPC 610 & 620 standards Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Prototype team: A small, unique, fast paced, independent team of Subject Matter Experts that collaborate directly with Design Authority, stakeholders and supporting functions to support in design and development for future BAE manufacture whilst also supporting critical deliverable activity for the business.
