You’re ready to be the steward across a portfolio of work to enable outcomes.You'll make a tangible impact on the people of NSW, using your finance and accounting skills to help build a sustainable and thriving transport network for generations to come.   In this role, you'll: You’ll be working as part of the Group Finance Branch, playing an important role in Financial Accounting and Control as you support the full lifecycle of Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) and lease asset accounting Portfolio. You’ll step into a senior role managing the full WIP and lease accounting lifecycle — reviewing capital projects, validating balances, interpreting the standards and ensuring everything aligns with AASB requirements and NSW Treasury policy. You’ll keep a close eye on ageing, capitalisation readiness and write‑off exposure, giving senior leaders timely insights they can act on. And because your work touches every corner of the business, you’ll collaborate daily with Project Delivery, Finance Partnering & Insights, Shared Services and Property to make sure our asset information is complete, compliant and genuinely decision‑ready. It’s a role where your technical depth and professional judgement directly influence the integrity of Transport’s financial position.This position is a permanent position. You’re experienced in capital project accounting, fixed asset capitalisation and lease accounting, and you know your way around SAP’s fixed asset and project modules. You can see the story behind the numbers, spot risks early and turn complex data into clear, confident recommendations. You communicate with ease — whether you’re guiding project teams through capitalisation decisions or explaining technical accounting to senior stakeholders. With your degree, professional membership and deep grounding in accounting standards and governance, you combine precision, influence and commercial awareness in a way that elevates the whole asset function. Essential:Capital portfolio management and leasing experience.  Bachelor qualification in a relevant discipline (Accounting, Business, Economics or Commerce) from an Australian university or equivalent overseas qualification, demonstrated and relevant professional experience, and a full member of a recognised professional accounting body.   Who we are Transport for NSW provides a safe, integrated, and efficient transport system.
