IN YOUR ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:

  • Asset Management & Optimization: Oversee the long-term performance of renewable energy assets ensuring optimal operation, risk mitigation, and value maximization. Work with internal teams to build and implement asset management strategies and performance monitoring tools.
  • Financial Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze energy production, operational costs, and financial performance. Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and reports related to renewable energy projects. Achieve budgetary targets under your responsibility and lead annual budget building and approval process for sites under your responsibility with all stakeholders. Build, review and contribute to financial models.
  • Contract & Stakeholder Management: Manage various contracts, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Asset Management Agreements, O&M contracts, and other project-related agreements. Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, contractors, and others. Participate in and lead as required contract/agreement negotiations.
  • Project Leadership: Provide strategic support for new projects, including feasibility studies, development, and integration into the existing portfolio. Contribute to the development of new business opportunities, including M&A and partnerships. Lead projects assigned to support asset optimization ensuring alignment with strategic goals and drive project team performance while fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment. Define and scope optimization projects and support input for each phase of the project as required: development, construction, operations, and end-of-life – including M&A efforts.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, and regulatory risks.
  • Performance Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation: Develop performance metrics and KPIs, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of asset performance. Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders on financials, project status, and strategic recommendations. Oversee performance indicator development and updates. Maintain records and documentation associated with asset management program requirements.
  • Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with internal departments to improve operational strategies, contract strategies, and implement innovative solutions. Support the continuous improvement of operational practices and project management systems including contributing lessons learned.
  • Additional Projects or Scope – as assigned. Collaborate with Asset Management team to share best practices, review strategies and contribute recommendations for additional technology types: BESS, Solar, Wind, Hydro, Combined-Technology, and any new renewable energy opportunities.
  • To succeed in this position, you need:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field. Master’s degree (MBA or similar) considered a plus.
  • Experience: 7+ years in Asset Management or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Knowledge: Management, financial, and energy-related technical experience. (wind turbine technology knowledge considered a plus).
  • Language and Communication: English and French language skills required (fluent in written and spoken). Excellent communication skills- including alignment across multiple disciplines, managing information flow and transparent communication flow to leadership teams and stakeholders.

    Travel is required for this position, as you will have to visit sites, attend stakeholder meetings, team meetings, or negotiations as assigned (up to 25% of the time) domestically and internationally.
