JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Assistant Accountant will be crucial in supporting the Finance team by ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of financial information. Key responsibilities include assisting with various finance and accounting tasks such as accounts reconciliation, monthly reporting and variance analysis.
This position offers the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of financial statements and gain valuable insights into business operations, you will contribute to financial analysis and make a real impact on the business.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in Assistant Accountant or similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel (Vlookup and Pivot table).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Self-motivated learner with proactive problem-solving skills, agile and can-do attitude.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and with excellent time management skills.
Responsibilities
  • Accurate Financial Processing: Ensure precise processing and documentation of all financial transactions to maintain integrity and accuracy of financial records.
  • Closing Procedures: Assist in the monthly and yearly closing procedures by preparing necessary journals and reports, ensuring timely and accurate financial close.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Assist in the reconciliation of balance sheets to ensure all accounts are balanced and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
  • Intercompany Reconciliation: Reconcile intercompany transactions and report.
  • Fixed Assets: Assist in CAPEX process, maintain the register and perform monthly reconciliation.
  • Payroll Assistance: Process payroll related journals, prepare for payroll tax calculation and compliance.
  • Government Reporting: Prepare BAS, FBT, and other government reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Audit Support: Assist in preparation of required documentation.
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting: Generate ad-hoc reports and provide financial information as requested to support various business needs and decision-making processes
