Senior Accounting Associate
Location: Alexandria, VA (Hybrid Work Schedule)
Type: Full-Time | Exempt | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Reports to: Controller

We’re looking for a Senior Accounting Associate to play a key role in our Finance department. This role offers the opportunity to manage both accounts payable and receivable functions, contribute to monthly closings and annual audits, and support cross-departmental projects.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage invoice processing, check runs, wire transfers, and vendor records
  • Monitor and reconcile expense reports and credit card activity
  • Handle cash receipts, deposits, and bank transaction entries
  • Prepare and review 1099/1096 forms and membership revenue reports
  • Support monthly closing, annual audit, and budget preparation
  • Collaborate with internal teams and perform special projects as needed

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Non-profit bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Strong grasp of GAAP and attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Pn3 a plus
  • Excel and Word proficiency; experience with database systems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with a team-focused mindset
