JOB DESCRIPTION

Rothschild & Co is seeking an exceptional senior associate or associate director to join its leading Natural Resources sector team in Sydney. Candidates will be responsible for the following tasks.

  • Undertaking the day-to-day management of specific transactions;
  • Where appropriate, being the prime day-to-day point of contact for the client relationship;
  • Supporting and reporting into the senior members of the deal team;
  • Undertaking business development initiatives;
  • Co-ordinating, instructing and training junior staff;
  • Liaising with and working effectively with other teams and overseas Rothschild & Co offices;
  • Overseeing and delivering high-quality transaction execution and pitch materials; and
  • Reviewing analytical research.

The tasks will be undertaken across a wide range of transactions within the Natural Resources sector, including acquisitions, takeovers, mergers, divestments, capital raisings, and restructurings.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong academic record (both at secondary and tertiary level)
  • Excellent numeracy and strong communication skills
  • Relevant sector experience gained within industry or a Natural Resources team at a local or global investment bank, chartered accounting or management consulting firm
  • Experience managing and executing transactions

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-graduate qualifications (for example CFA or CA)
