POSITION SUMMARY

A well-established law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to join its Commercial Litigation practice. This position is ideal for a highly motivated attorney with 5+ years of experience handling complex business disputes in both state and federal courts. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing cases from inception through trial or resolution and may also supervise litigation support staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing with the Florida Bar (required)
  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience (required), specifically in complex commercial litigation
  • Proven experience drafting dispositive motions and managing depositions
  • Trial experience strongly preferred
  • Strong legal research skills, particularly using LexisNexis
  • Exceptional writing, oral advocacy, and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Desire to maintain long-term professional relationships and uphold strong legal ethics

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Supervisory experience or interest in mentoring legal support staff
  • Experience working closely with corporate clients and understanding their operational goals
  • Comfort handling both plaintiff and defense-side commercial litigation

  • Represent clients through all stages of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and trial
  • Draft compelling motions, memoranda, and legal briefs
  • Conduct thorough legal research and develop case strategies in coordination with partners and clients
  • Appear in court to argue motions and attend hearings in both state and federal jurisdictions
  • Manage and oversee discovery processes, including e-discovery, document production, and depositions
  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants, as needed
  • Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to clients
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, team members, and leadership
  • Maintain a strong commitment to ethics, professionalism, and high-quality client service
